Description

I will not be returning to California today as I had hoped to.... I just got out of the hospital...here is an update on my condition.... As most of you know I was admitted to the hospital on the morning of the 15th of this month with chest and back pain.... I awoke around 7:30am that morning with pain that felt like someone stabbing me through the shoulder blades and out through my chest between my breasts...the pain at times would also quickly travel to my ears... it was the worst pain I had ever felt in my life and it scared me so badly I called 911. I then called my daughter Angie, leaving a message on her cell phone...asking her to meet me at the hospital, I was crying and very frantic...she flew to the hospital. On the way there the ambulance people sprayed nitroglissen into my mouth twice and gave me 4 baby asprins... after the second spray of nitroglissen the pain stopped. Upon arrival to the hospital I was hooked up to an EKG and heart monitor. I was then admitted and put into a private room. I was put on a 2 gram heart diet.... Angie stayed with me and my son Luke came to the hospital to be with me also.... my daughter Dionna called from her vacationand Dave called and i believe I was told that my son Dennis also called and that my daughter in law Cathy called. My daughter Michelle later came and spent the night with me. I slept most of the time there... The following morning I was taken to radiation for a few tests... I was given an IV and shot full of radiation so that they could take pictures of my heart to see if there was any heart disease. I was then placed on a long table which moved up under this huge equipment that moved around my chest area and took 64 pictures of my heart... that took 20 minutes... I was then taken to the treadmill and walked 15 minutes on it... after that I was taken and given an ultra sound of my kidneys, liver, gall bladder.... then it was back to the bed that moved for more pictures. I was then sent to my room to wait for the doctor.... Four and a half hours later Dr. Schmidt, who is a heart specialist came to my room. I was told I had NO heart disease and that for now my heart is healthy... I was also told that my sugar intake is high but I am NOT diabectic or even close to being border line diabectic.... He said I needed to watch my sugar intake... I was also told I have high colesterol and I would be put on a medication called Caduet, however, I can not afford it at $170.00 so I am awaiting a phone call from my doctor to see if he can put me on something else or offer me some samples. I was also told that I have several polyps on my gall bladder, normally these polyps on the gall bladder are not cancerous...I was told by Dave yesterday and again by my doctor this morning over the phone that an unhealthy gall bladder can impair one's vision... I have been having problems with my vision which sees to have gotten worse in the last year... I have black floaters in both eye making it impossible for me to drive at night and impossible to drive without sunglasses during the day, my eyes burn and itch almost constantly and the vision seems to be fading in both eyes... I was also told that my esophagus is unnormally small and this is why my swallowing here recently is hard for me to do without taking large gulps of water to wash the food down.... So, I was released from the hospital about 4:30pm yesterday but have to see the heart doctor in 2 weeks and make an appointment to see a stomach doctor for my gall bladder and esophagus. I will keep you all informed as I learn more.

I do know how you feel. Two years ago I went through tripple by pass surgery and this year in February I had a recuring heart attach. I am now on a diet of 12 different types of pills some taken twice a day. I still have very bad days. All of this has changed my life. I wish you luck and hope that you do not have to go through the ordeal of surgery ! Beautiful image ! George.

it sounds like your heart... you mention gall bladder... I had a friend years ago that was curled up in a ball and crying when I got to her apartment. She had been like that all day. Her sister and friend were concerned. I told her it wasn't normal to be in that much pain all day. I insisted she go to the hospital. she didn't want to, she was very poor... I insisted and drove her. It was her gall bladder. they opperated on her and said if I had not brought her in she would of died. Three insissions were made for the operation. all about a baseball width away from each other - the 3 cuts were no bigger than an inch each... Lets hope it was something you ate... but be aware Gall Bladders can be critical to your health - I'm praying for you that it was just a form of food poisoning - take care.

The image is beautiful Marlene, a wonderful night time scene! Hmmmm. Delbeke absolutley got it right, not all of us knew you were in the hospital! I was stunned to read this! I am so glad that you are okay, and home. I hope that whatever is causing your eye problems is minor and easily taken care of, and that they are able to figure out what caused you such pain. I'm keeping you in my prayers.
