Description

A: The "Carbon Fiber" is a great texture, although a little hard to see. I bought a decal in a hobby shop of Carbon Fiber and scanned it into my computer. B: The cylinder surface was made in Photoshop using the rust photo, layers of gradients, and some air brush work. C: This is actually the flat card that cold capsules come on. I scanned it into the computer and it makes a great texture. D: This is a "rust" texture that I got as a freebee off the web. Most important is to add a reflection map in the Surface Editors "Enviroment" tab. Hope this gives you some ideas...

The "presets" can be found on the lower left corner of the Surface Editor tool box on older versions of Lightwave, the no.7 version of LW they switched it to the main tool bar (because you use it a lot). Usually, when I use the Carbon Fiber photo as a texture on race cars I use the "Chrome" preset first and then place the image. That way it's smooth, bright and shinny. But for the gun I turned down the "gloss" & "reflection" to make it look a little used. Hope this helps.
