Description

Rebecca, my oldest granddaughter, now on the edge ofbeing grown-up. Two months from now she will be 18, and at least in Sweden that is an important step to being adult. You know the mix of feelings, being a child, and being an adult, both wonderful and scary. I did not take this shot, a friend and a classmate did. I just painted. Thanks for viewing and the comments you want to give.

I bet she is oblivious to your mixed bag of emotions! So typical and yes I understand the feelings. Time for both of you to spread your wings to new things. Lovely post work and a very pleasing effect.

Just a gorgeous young lady! It's always so difficult for me to believe it's your painting..... such marvellous and astounding realism, always puts me in a state of not only sheer and complete admiration, but bewilderment! Stunning expression and colours, my friend. Your granddaughter seems like a precious gem!

you have a way of painting photographs so that they look like they grew there, made of the most sensuous fabric, made of light shafts and soft quilts. You captured her age & her in-between place in life, her innocence and strength, and you captured your own love for her as well. I loved this when I first saw it, and I love it even more now. Subtle and very beautiful.

It's hard to see them grow so fast, you wish they remain little forever... I like how you painted this. It's very well done.

Am I the only one who don't want them little anymore. I find it wonderful to see them growing up, plus that there is much less work for the parents ( and grandparents) I find it wonderful to follow them growing up, every age has it's difficulties and good things.. Teenagers are hard sometimes ,no, almost always!

I'd love to know what you use to 'paint' your images. This one ,,, and your animals. I love this. And yes, I'm going through this with my 3 teenagers. :) Aren't they great !! :) lol
