Description

Please watch in full size, it looks better. Thanks! This is the second in the series. Here's the link to the first: thumb_1713495.jpg These two images are dedicated to all those who had to grow up without a father or a mother. Note: there is what I believe to be an obvous link between the two images but I thought I'd mention it anyway. You'll notice that the trees in both images are the same, meaning the forest is the same. The path links the two places. In the first image the sun was high in the sky, now it's sunset. This sequence tells a story: the child survived the forest dangers and he arrived to spend the night in the arms of his stone mother. As to the symbolism behind the similarity in shape and orientation between the clouds and the scarf in her hands, on one side, and, on the other side, the similarity of colors between the scarf and the boys clothes, that I'll leave for you to think. Thanks for watching! EDIT: this was awarded Picture of the Day at e-on, on July 28th.

Very creative and unique artwork - would love to see another sequel of the series! The poses are very storytelling and speak for themselves even without looking at the title or the accompanying comment. Two thumbs up!

Really well done, not a detail overlooked. The scarf almost looks like a blanket she is going to cover him with.

Now I know why these have affected me so much. I grew up without parents. Even cold stone is preferable to nothing. You did really good,Artur!

Both images are very moving. One can feel like an orphan even when the lose occurs later in life. Although in the previous image there seems to be no hope - the father isnt acknowledging the child, he is a grand figure and should have been able to protect and support the child, but I see none eminating from him. This image has more optimistic signs, the menacing forest is lighter and behind, the cloud isnt dark, the light is warm, the water (symbolizing life ahead) is calm and supporting life, and the mother's scarf is flowing in that direction, promising to shield the child. So why do I find this image even more distressing than the previous one..perhaps its the child's fetal position, his head nestled next to the womb...he doent seem prepared for the journey ahead, on his own. Is anyone.

Great image! I noticed the wind and the colors before reading your text (pats self on back). Great job on the symbolism and the mode both this image and the previous one project.
