Description
This is the image I thought would never get done. I've been re-doing my old character Janelle for use with Vicky 3 on and off for a while now (she was originally based off of Posette, so it was a lot of fun). After an protracted fight to get the morph and texture to look like I wanted, and setting her in a suitable scene (she's a hacker that was originally developed for a cyber-punk story that never quite got completed), it was time to render... and then the fun began. I firmly believe that Poser decided that it really wanted to give up rendering and go and join the circus (or whatever it is that programs do when they're just over working on the same scene for any length of time). I had to render this no less than 15 times to get the image to finally finish rendering. Granted we all know that Poser's render engine is not the fastest thing ever made, but each render (at 2000 pixels high, which is sized down from the 3000 I usually do so that I can print a good 8x10 of the image if I want to) took 8 to 10 hours to render. This is with only 1 light set to IBL with ambient occlusion on and 3 raytrace bounces (mind you this is on a duel core processor with 2GB of ram to play with). Most of the time the render would read as finished, then just hang and only have 2/3rds of the image done. I think perhaps it was finally my threat of decompiling Poser and inserting some very unpleasant code into it that made it work (either that or the threat of uninstalling it and replacing it with an etch-a-sketch... not really sure ;) ). I will say that I am rather pleased with the results though... for once I didn't need to spend hours in Photoshop to do touch ups. Ah well... now that Poser has hopefully learned it's lesson, I'll be able to get the next couple of images done (which will feature Jannelle and a couple of other characters that I've been working on and re-working).
Janelle is based on Victoria 3, morph and texture by me. Top is from the Tail Gunner set by Xena, Anna Benjamin and ElorOnceDark, pants are the Slim Jeans by Billy T, Hair is Sapphire Fox hair by Quarker with texture by me, and the set is Section 15 by Stonemason with the OM Hanger by DAZ 3D sitting outside the window. All Lighting by me as well. Rendered in Poser 6 with very slight post work in Photoshop CS2.
Thanks for stopping by and having a look. Comments, critiques and such are always welcome and appreciated.

Hon, does Poser gave up again?!?!? Your last artwork was ... in april last year? Are you doing stuff like me and are gone for more than a year or what? ;o))) Back to the image: I think your effort paid off in no time. The lady looks stunning and the image is all in all harmonious. The only problem I see here is.... that you're not uploading anything new ;o) Hope all is right for you. Take care, ~Sassy~
