Description

“Alcea rosea” Dutch”stokroos” Alcea rosea (Common Hollyhock) is an ornamental plant in the Malvaceae family. It was imported into Europe from China in the sixteenth century. William Turner, a herbalist of the time, gave it the name "holyoke" from which the English name derives. Wonderful day and thanks for your support and kind comments on my previous postings. I planted one in my yard, same color as this one. It's been coming back and spreading, same color. This year there was a pink flowering! Isn't that wonderful? Love your macro with all the dew on it!
