Description

Thanks for visiting and your comments. The scene here is typical of the southwestern desert in the early springtime and in the fall when the winds are gentle and rains are sparse. This scene depicts a late afternoon when the day before provided a fair amount of rain filling the gully with fresh water providing a much needed drink by the vegetation. Many thanks for the generosity of the following artists for certain elements contained in the picture: • The green, reworked, hot air balloon – This talented artist prefers to remain anonymous • The distant, hot air balloon – gregsandor • The Eucalyptus tree – jacinbama • The grass – klas • The reworked, Small Bush 2 – buzzzzz1 There are two populations of fake stones. If I were to remake this scene, I would have reworked the stones to attain more variance in color and detail. Now, color wise, they all look too much alike.

The landscape and your idea with it have lot's of potential! I think a slight rework of the camera could turn this fine image into a brilliant one! Perhaps you could free the tree from the borders and put it at about 2/3 of the image. The mountain at 1/3(a bit more to the left). If there are any problems with the water, move the camera a bit to the left, so the same water will be displayed as in this image. The balloons could add for a nice sence of scale if you would line them up at a more subtile position. Say at about the same distance as the mountain. It'll make the mountain look huge! It's just my point of view, do with it as you please! :)

The scene is just wonderful, Bob, and your work is excellent in all aspects. I can't believe the water. I've worked and worked with the water settings in TG2..and always come up short. Very impressive!

I'm a few days late on my comments - but one of the more complex renders I've see you put out. Must have taken a lot of time & effort on your part - and well worth it! Regardless of the stones, it's still very nicely done & better than I'm able to do right now!
