Description

This is quite a rare site for us in the U.K. The Whooper swans only visit in the winter, To escape the severe weather in Scandinavia and Iceland where they breed. They are also a "wild" bird not at all approachable like the everyday Mute Swans. That said I was so pleased to get a shot of a Whooper cygnet asleep on it's parent's back!

A truly wonderful shot - the little one snoozing is nicely framed by the parent's neck! Great work!

A most gentle shot. It would have twice the impact if you could "remove" the butt of the other bird but even as it stands, it is a powerfully warm and inviting shot.
