Hello again, dear RR artists and friends! again a trip to Berlin - Kreuzberg, into Riehmers house complex. The story of this complex is told here, but there are some more pics in the pipe... The restauration of the whole complex of buildings began in 1974 and lasted 12 years, till 1986. And that happened: -The whole fassades at the main street, the YORCK street (the two giants over the entrance), were renovated at first, followed by a renovation of all inner parts of the complex (22 houses); -All flats became modern installations and heatings, divided flats were put together again as they were in their origin in 1892; -All cars were banned from the inside; a complete park deck was constructed under the surface level; the backyard was plastered as you can see here: -one house was build new, and the 2 houses right and left from the second entrance became their old towers; -in 1984 a new supermarket was built and a cinema with a fine program.... All was finished in 1986 and is now one of the finest locations in Berlin. For some years it was a steady point on tourist`s trails. There is a hotel now and nearly 200 fine flats. It is expensive, but not a home for millionairs. it is open and there are no security persons at the entrances....
