A long drive to nowhere...sometimes the most relaxing drive is the drive to knowhere. There is a coastal road that runs the edge of the land in Northern California. Its an old logging road from the historic days when logging was a mainstay in California. I love walking along the parts that have not been eroded and swept out to sea. Stellar shot.

Yes, I agree with MrsLubner above. One place I loved was in Central Iowa along the bluffs of the Des Moines River; especially, in the fall. There was a portion of an old Stage coach road or trail that ran along the ridge for several miles before an incredibly steep descent down to the river where they forded the stream. It was very isolated and beautiful. The last time I was there was in 1998 or 99. It had become very overgrown with shrubs and young trees and thornes. I expect by now it is not even possible to walk it anymore. I used to walk it about once or twice a year for many years before that. I miss those moments terribly.
