Description
The raid on the headquarters of General Orlando Naseby was not, it soon turned out, Astrid Draper's finest hour. The problem was that there was a clear conflict of objectives. On the one hand, the raiders were told to scan every detail they could find of the New Pomeranian deployments. That required supreme stealth. On the other, Admiral Draper couldn't resist the idea of winning Naseby's scalp. That necessitated the copious application of violence, something well within the raiders' capabilities, but hardly compatible with stealth. Naseby, in the event, was safely absent. The raiders saved Draper's blushes by successfully extricating themselves from a very sticky situation. The NP forces had to modify their dispositions in a big hurry, but Draper's raid actually meant a step backwards for the Amazonian Military Intelligence Directorate.
