Description
I was watering my plants when I happened to catch a glance of these legs. I laughed! It looked like this guy was trying to hide behind this zinnia bud. Probably thinking OMG there she is again with that camera....
This is a Nymph of a Bird Grasshopper. They're really yucky and eat my plants, but I can't bring myself to kill it... I'm hoping the resident lizards or the birds will get him :) I have a lot more photos I've taken of it and will share them too. But this one gave me a good laugh. Hope you have a laugh too.

Hidden, it is funny to see its hind legs dangling. Good close up, well composed. Funny that you mention you can't kill them despite them wreaking havoc. I changed my attitude quite some time ago and I am thrilled to stick out my finger and let them get on, as if they know they are safe now. I know I am blah-ing, lol.

Oh yeah, I can see the bugger is really going to town on the leaves. Munch a bunch! And what's with those spiked shins and feet? Better to climb with my dear! Strong dude...hanging on by its arms...didn't even have to wrap its legs around the stem for support. Ennyweigh, fine macro, Melinda!
