What an outstanding maco of John Doe! I love seeing the hairs on him, and his chin whiskers. And those striped eyes and silver face mask are fantastic. Super job.

I captured such fly a couple of weeks ago and I also wondered what it was... it's a Tetanocera elata (snail-killing fly). Beautiful macro with nice detail! Flashy eyes :)
