ok after last wine update i tried b5.5 on linux. and it actually loaded. But the top bar was completely unusable(none of the windows work arounds work in linux.). I could not select many mats. and could only reboot computer to get out of bryce.
but it did render picture just fine.
so mayby next wine update it will work well and byebye windows!

I was wondering how some of these programs would work on Linux.... this looks very nice, clean....

what the diff between linux and wibndows? would it be faster? this looks like a wonderful test you did.

An excellent look. There may be some libraries in unexpected places. I have not worked with LINUX in over ten years. The installs were just getting too complicated when automatic failed.

the mat lab functioned fine used some random mats. random skies. its not that i cannot find the libraries its they will not open. all things under file edit etc had to be done with keyboard shortcuts.] as i could not access them. bryce barely functioned under ubuntu linux. but its the farthest i have gotten so far. i cannot import objects because no key board shortcut for them. will try daz studio next as it would open in ubuntu then crash if you clicked any thing. so see where it gets this time. the d/s buttion in b55 is missing too. it rendered no faster then it would under windows with same hardware.
