Description

This is a kind of cactus outside. The bud is only about a couple of centimeters across so all the little buds are very small. I can't wait for them all to open. Anyone know what it is?

I would say that it's a jade plant but the leaves are not the right shape. The blooms look similar so maybe they're related. Excellent shot no matter what it is.

Couldn't count on me to tell ya what this could be... but I will say that it's a stunningly unique species indeed; and I too am now curious as to what it will look like when it does open up... so beautiful, and the colours are fantastic! Marvellous photography, taken with brilliant sharpness and clarity!

Mmmm.. Rozanne. So cacti actually flower and don't just collect dust and dead flies on office windowsills...? ;o) This is a nice, macro image, my friend. Warm regards ( well, 28C anyway ) John.

well I live in a high-rise in Chicago, so I wouldn't know what specie this was if you paid me a million dollars. We don't get cacti here. I promise you... But it's a magical little burst of bulbous buds. (I didn't intend all those B's, they just happened...) And I love the background plants as well: Shows how exotic cacti really are. They really do show little respect for the rest of the flower kingdom: They refuse to be delicate, refuse refinement, they just plop onto the scene in all their bulbous glory and they don't budge. And it's nice that the rest of the shot is in background-focus. Kind of a blossom over a deep sea. Lovely shot.
