To all of my mother's Renderosity friends:
It saddens me to no end to tell you that my mother, Mina, passed on May 31st, from endometrial cancer. She is survived by my father, Roger, and myself. I apologize for not letting you all know sooner, but her passing has left me with a broken heart and it is very hard to write this, even now. I don't suppose there will ever come a time that it will be easier.
I know how much she loved you all, how much it meant to her to have met such wonderful people, and how much it meant to her to create & share her art with you. I am leaving her work here for a while, as tribute to her, her beauty, her talent & her love.
Brightest Blessings to you all!
Heather
 Mina's daughter
Thanks to all for stopping by and hope you enjoy your visit.

"I get out my work and have a show for myself before I have it publicly.
I make up my own mind about how good or bad or indifferent it is.

I have already settled it for myself so flattery
and criticism go down the same drain and I am quite free.

Very cool. I love the "exposure", and all the little hints around the edge that it's a negative perhaps. So, her negative side is being exposed? And she seems to be in a spotlight, her hair looks wet, was she swimming to freedom? And she was spotted? Oh, you know, just random thoughts after being up way too late and getting up way too early. Awesome work on this one, it more then passes muster!

Certainly more than passes muster. The design and ambiguity could have it read from different directions: out of a bath, out of a relationship, to wistfulness, or sadness. Thanks for sharing.

it's always wonderful to see you work with flatter tones (since you work with a lot of deep spaces and hues). It brings out your deep design sense. But despite the planes of yellow and orange here, you have a wonderful play of shadow and mystery in the face, giving an over-exposed 'atomic' glitter to the deep shadows, and a vibrant life to the strands of hair. Beyond all that, it has an off-the-cuff feel, an improv, making it very jazzy, or like a shot straight out of the camera that hasn't been worked on yet. Lotta worlds in one piece. Wonderful.
