It's with great nervousness that I post this image. But then I think about my own beliefs and know that Alex telling me to post it is the right thing to do. My belief: everything in nature is not perfect and yet EVERYTHING in nature is perfect...it's only our personal perception that makes its less than it is. This is my first painting in more than thirty years and this paint is not one I would normally use.
Alex sent this paint to me and its a childrens paint that is washable, well, let me tell you its washable from paper too! I started this nearly a year ago, after much frustration because it doesn't blend well either, I finally tried blotting and scraping, reapplying , layer after layer and the some other little things to achieve what I have. Its been one heck of a challenge but I think I did okay. Not the best I have done but not the worst either.
Alex chose the title and it fits perfectly. As we made our way from Washington state to New York 2 years ago, we passed thru many Indian Nations, some surrounded by flat desolate land but more often the rolling hills that seemed to go as far as the eye could see with no beginning and no end, blending into the sky...like the sacred circle, infinite. My native heritage is important to me, I see things, feel things, hear things different than most people, a deep connection to the land, the inhabitants and all people but also a deep and abiding respect for my native peoples. I hope this image conveys that somehow...Dedicated to my Alex with love...

Very nice composition, Lynn. The pathways lead us to the water and the water leads us to the mountains and the mountains lead us to the sky. There's something very peaceful and mystical in this. Very nice style too. Great picture!
