My name is Andrew Luby. You can visit my website at www.stardockalpha.comBIOI am a Computer Science major at the University of California Riverside. I first became interested in 3D modeling when the original Bryce came out. I created 3D landscapes and science fiction space battles. When Poser 4 came along I decided to give it a try and was not too impressed by the P4W, but after some work I got some presentable pictures. I later upgraded to Vicki 2 and have used her ever since.
I have experience doing graphics on both Mac and PC, I originally started out on a Mac but since my PC was more powerful I soon was forced to convert (I had a more powerful PC because I used to be a big gamer =) ).
I use a 1500 Mhz Pentium IV, 640MB RDRAM, 200 GB of hard disk space, a GeForce 2 and a 21" monitor as my main PC machine, which I now use for most graphics. On occasion I still do use my Mac my for some graphics, it is a 400 Mhz G3 Prismo PowerBook.

I like the alignment of the objects in this image your text sounds alot like the dialogue from the orginal series of Star Trek episode "The Trouble with Tribbles" are you a Star Trek fan?
otty
Aha. Great render dude. I think your work is the strongest when you do these sci-fi theme. The name tag is a great touch.
hermitboy
Very nice. Have you played Escape Velocity by any chance?
stardockalpha
Hehe... Okay first RG19 - yes I am a Star Trek Fan and yes the dialogue was inspired by "The Trouble with Tribbles." Second, hermitboy, Escape Velocity Nova rules!!!! But I still think the original is just a classic. I have played all the Escape Velocities as well as created plugins. The IDA Frigate wannabe gave it away didn't it =)
Heart'Song
Very nice composition. What model is this? I really like her

cute face! i agree that the name tag is an excellent touch, and the ship in the background seems reminicent of somewhere, buti can't quite put my finger on it... i was thinking freespace 2 or perhaps even Invader Zim (great show, isn't it?)... care to enlighten me as to the inspiration?

Agree with Otty. The Sci-Fi themes definitely bring out your best. This image is well done in every respect. And the Desert Eagle is perfect :-)

Kobain: I have played Freespace 1, and liked it a lot. Never really tried Freespace 2 but am well aware of it. This image was inspired by mainly the game Escape Velocity Nova (Mac) and aspects of the ship were inspired by the Nebulon B Frigate (star wars), IDA Frigate (Nova), and freighters from Wing Commanders 3 & 4. Star Trek was also a source of inspiration for this piece as well as other scifi that I might not consciously be aware of.

Another really neat sci-fi pic. Hey! You're in your element! ;) Have to agree with otty that the ID badge adds a lot to this image. Very nice touch. Great job all round. Well done.
