Description

This is my first work rendered in C4D. I afraid, it's not good enough to be placed here, but i'm just a beginner and I need your advices. This is a VERY early russian mouse prototype. It has never been serial produced. I tried to create leather background. It not so easy, as I thought before. Maybe it looks like plastic, but the work will be continued.

HI! Welcome here! Good as a first try ! :) Here a couple of advices: 1. to me the less convincing thing is the rusted steel. It is not an easy effect at all, anyway. Maybe you can use the "rust" shader included in Cinema (you'll find it under "surfaces" in the material settings both in the color and in the bump channel to improve it a bit. I would you suggest to try first with not-rusted steel, anyway, to get a grip on it. Maybe playing with the Danel shader. 2. I would replace the background with some surface more "suitable" to a mouse than a canvas! Maybe just a Apple-ads style white reflective surface (with Fresnel on) or a wood material. Nice idea!

Hi! Thanx for comment. 1.Work in progress - I'll try to do as you said and upgrade the mouse to be more realistic. 2.Of course, I'll replace the background (canvas was first texture I clicked).8-) Please wait.

While I don't do any 3d work, I must say that this is a wonderful image. I agree that the pad should be changed, might they have used old leather? On the upside, I can just see someone trying to use this.

Absolutely incredible! I adore this kind of humor! Nevertheless, Russian did an excellent job in the field of technology: they invented the very first 35mm SLR in the thirties (before the famous Kine-Exakta of Ihagee), and they began space exploration… So they aren't ridiculous! Excellent C4D image! I adore C4D, it's my favorite 3D app and I use it daily, but it's SOOO difficult to master! Do continue the good work!
