Description

Back to the highlands with this one. This is the most amazing beach i have been to and was lucky to see the sunset just as i was turning round the mountainside and that sight alone was worth the journey there. The sight was all the more wonderful because so few will actually see it, most had left by then, in fact we were the only three people on the beach that night. I doubt i'll put the photos i took of that moment up, they wouldnt do it justice. This is a photo taken the next day looking generally south towards the stack at one end of the bay. Oh, yes, the name of the place - Sandwood Bay. Reserved for those who feel it necessary to drive to the middle of nowhere, park a car and walk (no cars allowed which was exceedingly nice) 4.5 miles along a trail which tempts you by a few blind corners. And for those who cant believe the colour of the water because it is the UK... well, yes i might have enhanced it for artistic effect, but could you see detail under the waves if it werent crystal clear?... ;) Enjoy! Rich

Magical view, soft and gloriously pastelled. A very interesting object towering on the horizon. A tree on the water?

Great work, using the shutter speed to soften the waves. Misty effect. Well done, Clive
