crystals always seemed hard to shoot because it seems so easy to capture them looking 'good'. (At least that's what I would think.) So I always stop when I see crystals captured sensitively. Your sensitivity to light & angle here is beautiful: The tips seem to coagulate all the purple, like it gathered there to catch the sunlight (your eye must've led you to it, because you caught it beautifully); and the rest is like the most opulent confections, extravagant candies or fruit-ices—it's a delicious shot. The detail on the lower portions shows us some of the layers & activity that swim inside a crystal; and the reflections on the upper portions—the actual 'crystals' themselves—are quite beautiful. A beautiful shot of an over-photographed thing; you make us see it anew.
