What is this? Moonlighting? i catch you in a strange gallery by accident - but glad to have done so. Its a nice image, and particularly good if you are new to Illustrator. One day I'l have to buy it, for Freehand has been killed off by Adobe A suggestion? You have windows, doors, and possibly a staircase, so maybe try replacing the black solid background with the faintest of brick designs (transparent?). You'd need to be careful though for the present simplicity is very effective.
