Description

I took this as my plane circled over the peninsula south of San Francisco. This is the Crystal Springs Reservoir**, where all the water from Hetch Hetchy ends up. There's a pretty amazing spot called Pulgas Water Temple where the water comes rushing in, pouring into the reservoir. You look down into the space, see and hear the roar of the water; it's spectacular, but I couldn't stay long, it made want to jump in--water does that to me!! **click here

I have skirted Hetch Hetchy and mean to spend more time there. It's history is so interesting and I sometimes wonder how it was made so clean and inviting for the wildlife there. Great shot.

Is this one of your Blue period Marilyn?? I have just checked this out on Multi maps and it shows the Water temple in great detail. You can see it here http://www.multimap.com/maps/#map=37.48307,-122.3178|18|32&loc=US:37.77918:-122.42005:12|San%20Francisco|San%20Francisco,%20California,%20United%20States If you go to birds eye view it is better. Superb capture and interesting link you provided, makes a good read. Bravo!!!!!

The interesting textures in this overhead capture make for an unusual topographical map, Marilyn. Vast range of blue hues, tints and shades in this shot.
