I agree with Tara, Jocko! I sewed some very nice banners for a local church, and a pompous official came from the diocese to ask if I would do one for the cathedral which is some miles away. It was to be in celebration of an organisation for deaf people; I showed him my design for it, which he liked, but he told me that I could not use bright and shiny fabrics as 'Deaf people don't like metallic or colourful things'!!! WHAT RUBBISH! I sent him away to find someone else.

If you are happy with the end result Jocko thats all that matters, thats the reason that I take pictures, to please me first and foremost. If somebody else likes what I take then thats a bonus. Every picture you take has a bit of you in it, your love for Cajun Music shows through in your pictures. This one shows it as well. Excellent work. Bravo!!!!!

An interesting abstract Jocko. The soft image enhances the photo in my opinion. Never heard of Dobro.

Not too my friend Jocko distresses! YOU are a large artist, and your photographs taken in the street or the concerts are extraordinary… believe my experiment. But a large artist as must be to you free of his expression. For a book, to choose as much among your achievements, but certainly not to ask you to make such or such photograph for this book! Several friends here have confirmed that it is tiresome for an artist to carry out subjects imposed by the others. Your very favorites, are in your photographs… rest yourself! In a friendly way CLAUDE

As I said in my comment of your later pict I need more precise metadata to do a useful help. Interesting shot anyway.

Your art is your soul. You can't sell your soul down the river to satisfy some one else's idea of art. I think the only thing you can do is just keep doing what you are doing. You post work, you display at art shows, if your work sells, then you are a lucky, happy man. If it doesn't, oh well. But I don't think you can force yourself to conform to someone else's ideas without getting angry and upset at yourself. I like these photos. They have an abstract quality to them, yet they have a ton of soul. In my eyes, they are beautiful.

Gee Jock..a little hard on yourself...an artist's mind is like a sieve...everything should flow through, but, through time, the crap is filtered out;then the flow is reduced but the purity comes through...just keep true to yourself...it all works out!

You can make this picture many things!....
