Description

I got a lot of shots like this.I know it soft focus or the person moved. This is in low lighting and at the time I did not how a flash but on my camera and a long time I did not beleive in useing it. I see now I need one and I did buy a good one. may cost me too much. I see later. I like this in a abstract way and the the looks of the strings hit me and it look like his thumb went across the strings too as the gold color cuts across two of the strings for sure. I at a coffee shop now and on high speed yes yes yes. so happy now thanks for looking and comments. Tell me if you think I going in the right way here. I alway chaseing rabbits and I get no wheres. Thought about photo people and weddings to make money; but I do not think I can do that. I not good with people and people telling me what to do. Is it pride; or is it a artist way of running from the real world and into his own world?? One person wish for me to design a book cover and he wish to change what I did . I got upset with him. I think it pride and I have to overcome it. Why I telling you this stuff. So it may help you in the same area of your life or to tell me something about how life is. I just looking at the pit falls in my life. Hope to help others. Maybe I should not tell but put on a mask of macho man "I can do it all by myself" but that mask would be wrong. I need to get a life. Only people I talk too is you all which is the best friends in the world.

I agree with Tara, Jocko! I sewed some very nice banners for a local church, and a pompous official came from the diocese to ask if I would do one for the cathedral which is some miles away. It was to be in celebration of an organisation for deaf people; I showed him my design for it, which he liked, but he told me that I could not use bright and shiny fabrics as 'Deaf people don't like metallic or colourful things'!!! WHAT RUBBISH! I sent him away to find someone else.

If you are happy with the end result Jocko thats all that matters, thats the reason that I take pictures, to please me first and foremost. If somebody else likes what I take then thats a bonus. Every picture you take has a bit of you in it, your love for Cajun Music shows through in your pictures. This one shows it as well. Excellent work. Bravo!!!!!

An interesting abstract Jocko. The soft image enhances the photo in my opinion. Never heard of Dobro.

Not too my friend Jocko distresses! YOU are a large artist, and your photographs taken in the street or the concerts are extraordinary… believe my experiment. But a large artist as must be to you free of his expression. For a book, to choose as much among your achievements, but certainly not to ask you to make such or such photograph for this book! Several friends here have confirmed that it is tiresome for an artist to carry out subjects imposed by the others. Your very favorites, are in your photographs… rest yourself! In a friendly way CLAUDE

Your art is your soul. You can't sell your soul down the river to satisfy some one else's idea of art. I think the only thing you can do is just keep doing what you are doing. You post work, you display at art shows, if your work sells, then you are a lucky, happy man. If it doesn't, oh well. But I don't think you can force yourself to conform to someone else's ideas without getting angry and upset at yourself. I like these photos. They have an abstract quality to them, yet they have a ton of soul. In my eyes, they are beautiful.

Gee Jock..a little hard on yourself...an artist's mind is like a sieve...everything should flow through, but, through time, the crap is filtered out;then the flow is reduced but the purity comes through...just keep true to yourself...it all works out!
