Hello, this is my new experiment with light. Clouds, low fog, lightning, etc... are made with light source and particle emitter. No post work is used. Amazing, I would love to hear how you used a particle emitter to create the lightning. If you care to share, e-mail me at dandavis18@insightbb.com. Now I await your comment! :) I would have given this a 10 but the foreground materials look a little fabricated. The rest of it is stunning!

Hello Dandavis, a lot of thanks for your comments. I think that I have not explained it well. Clouds and fog are made with lights and particle emitter. For the lightning i used only two parallel square light, with a realistic texture on the transparent channel. One for the lightning and another one for the luminous cloud of around (to simulate the glow. You are right, I have not worked too much the terrain, I was more interested in the atmosphere and the light of the scene

Amazing. So, you have an actual picture of lightning in the transparency channel?

Bleeding well done. Stunning resault. I think with some noise on the foreground texture will do the trick. Nine and a half point from Sweden. :)))

Thanks to all for your comments. VitalBodies you are right, but after many test I preferred to make the lightning more defined in the center that in the ends, in order to obtain a more dinamic aspect. Erik, Fake, to make the lightning is easier of which it seems. I used a good photography of a lightning. Using Photoshop I made the background uniformly black. This photo was used as "transparent gel" for a square spot light, I apply it with Flat projection and no tiles. A tip: If a spot light is used the ends of the texture are blurer than the center, if you need a sharper look you can do the outer angle of the spot light greater (near 175), or to use a parallel light. You can use a additional light with a blured photo of the lightning to simulate the "glow" of the lightning. Grezelda, I loved to supply you a tutorial, but as you can see my english isnt too good. Anyway if you have some doubt I will try to solve it. Cheers
