Description
Another Carrara weird/abstract for you, plus some thoughts..
I have a few concepts, a few possibilities that could exist. Has someone ever told you something along the lines of “I have nothing to do” or “The infinite universe” and you responded along the lines of “I understand.” Well, perhaps you do. However I don't think you can understand the words in true form. When somebody suggests that there is nothing there, or that they are doing nothing, there is always something there or being done. It may be confusing, but take a look at it. “There's nothing to do.” Well then why are you talking, why are you thinking, why are you sitting? Why aren't you just dead, or wait that's something too. What I'm trying to get at is the idea that no one human can truly understand the words 'nothing' and 'infinite' because we cannot imagine it. Why can't you imagine what these are? Well, true nothingness is nothingness, I just can't describe it in words because it is a concept that can't truly be understood by human kind. You cannot think of true nothingness because that means you are thinking of something, even if you cleared your mind of everything there would still be something, therefore there couldn't be nothing. True nothingness is not incomplete for it is not started, it is just nothingness, the idea is so hard to understand and yet so simple that it is beyond normal brain function. The same goes with the word 'infinite'. Ya, it may be easier to think of but can you really think of it. Can you really think of ultimate mass, or is that the same thing? Hmmm...... Questions, difficult questions.... Infinite is just so much, there really is no word to perfectly describe it besides itself, so it has a self explanation, but like 'nothing' and many other things in this world it (they) cannot be truly understood. You may disagree, that's your opinion and your entitled to it, but just try it. See of how complete you can get these concepts, or so incomplete that it doesn't exist. Can you do it, I can't. I've tried, I've spent hours and days trying but I just can't, despite my best efforts. These ideas just have too much to them, they are so simple yet are so complicated.

Interesting. I would propose to you its also what is amazing about the concept of Zero. Working with algarithims for a while I know its extremly difficult to even concieve what some very large numbers mean - no less something as questionable as Infinity - after all can it exist if one can measure or are you going to reduce yourself to the old joke of, you go 50% of the way then 50% of that and then 50% .. and you will never get there. The Concept of infinity is it resist measurment. You can try the concept of Null but it is not nothingness even though it is. Afterall can you hear nothing if you are not there? The Unmeasurable.

There is always something to ruin that concept of "nothing". One cannot even truthfully say, "I feel nothing towards you=", LOL, because even that "nothing" is something. I like the concept of infinity, or infinite, but right off the bat, I can tell you that it is a concept I cannot comprehend, though I understand the word. Love the image too, especially the upper right portion that looks like a fish tail, or a dolphin or whale tail receding into the um .. infinite darkness? grins.

Great idea! Super work!

The beginning of infinite is just beyond our noses. Excellent concept, and thank you for something to think about. I had nothing to do... now I can think about what you said. ;c) This image has a purity to it.

Nice work, interesting thoughts. Have you ever read any of the poetry from the Sufi poets around 1200 AD? They wrote some very moving words on the nature of the infinite and if we can truly grasp "Nothing". Thought-provoking work!

Interesting art creations, in visual arts but also in other fields such as theater, novels, poems, often start from deep thoughts such as your one. Nice pict.
