Description

I did this sea scape completely with a palette knife and oil paints on a 11" X 14" stretched canvas. I am just learning how to do sea scapes and this is number six in the learning process. I would love any critiques that you might have. Thanks, Lorraine

great work, i still think you can drop the horizon more, if the top of the wave was above the horizon the wave would look much greater and fierce. The front of the main wave (where the water is going downwards) looks a bit flat, either the angle of the strokes should be less vertical or you need a colour gradient to make it look less flat. the swirl around the rocks is awesome as are the clouds. You have an excellent pallete knife technique

Thanks, everyone, and ekatz for your fine suggestions. I will take that into account on my next painting. Cheers!

Very impressive for just a palette knife, I struggled with that for awhile till I finally got it down. Very nicely done! :o)
