your painterly work is again very subtle, and has a very soft sweep. The cat seems to swirl out of darkness and reach up for the light; it has wonderful motion. And you bring out its softness beautifully. There's a dab of bright light above its head that looks like it's come down to greet the cat. Finally, the darks remind me of Rembrandt—deep earth tones, with a sense of under-glow, and very sensuous. One of many reasons why you excel in animal portraiture; and it's so nice to see Ilona respond so lovingly to how you transform her work. These pieces are a testament to love for both of you.
