Description

Happy Sunday everyone - I thought I'd upload this photo that was taken on our vacation. Of course it was early evening, and this boat was cruising into shore. The man in the boat was a photographer, so he and I talked for quite a while. He had a Nikon D200 or 300 .. can't remember now which (it was a long time ago, JULY ya know lol) .. but the lens he had on was over 2 feet in length. It was an 800mm lens. He had a suitcase just for that lens. I about died when I saw that. So, needless to say, his images were far more impressive than mine will ever be. Wish I was loaded.. I'd buy the best camera and lenses ever made. :( Anyway, if wishes were fishes .. we'd all have a kettle full, right? :-) I hope you have a great day .. a bit stormy here in Minnesota .. a good day to do the domestic thang. Enjoy whatever you do. And, thank you for stopping by! Shari

Also .. Check out the August Photo Challenge! Hope you all participate, it will be FUN!
I want to thank you for your visits and favs on my previous upload: Hover Fly thumb_1721587.jpg

So glad to hear he didn't knock you over, he seems to be heading straight for you. Excellent capture Shari, superb colourtones, and yes if I was loaded I would go for the same thing. Lol. Bravo!!!!!

A wonderful image with an impressive atmosphere! Could be a SIGMA 800mm, see price and weight: http://www.amazon.com/Sigma-800mm-Ultra-Telephoto-Cameras/dp/B0000501QL/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1217785758&sr=8-1

Goes to show ya, it's the person behind the camera, not the camera that matters.

Shari, as a dear friend recently told me...you do not need a new camera. You do very well. Enjoy what you have ;)

yes, the mood is perfect. If you had all the lenses, this would still be a good choice!

Excellent mood and tone, the whole scene is cloaked in some secrecy: a drug runner in the boat? LOL Dream on Shari...

You've just proven that you don't require "the best" equipment to take a wonderful shot....fact is,every day here it gets proven by one Artist or another....you can't manufacture talent and technology plays lousy as a mentor....sorry for rambling...love your stuff.......Ray!

Superlative dark atmospheric mood shot, Sharilyn. Nice study in blue. That may be a boat, but it sure looks like am old fashioned land telephone to me, propelling itself through the water. Ring....ring...ring....will somebody please get that!

Trust me on this Shari, great gear does not a great photographer make :). You have a special talent. I have seen an experiment where some great photographers where given $20 disposable cameras and they still produced great images that I was jealous of.

Wonderful image. There are times when all the animals seem to flee far away that I wouldn't mind an 800 lens myself. :)

Love it! The blues and the moon... Great shot. Yep, one of the Dad's at my daughter's High School had one of those lenses... I drooled only a litte ;)
