Description
Hi all, here is the dragonfly I intended to put on the board today. I took a total of under 2 minutes to grab the camera out of my truck and follow this one to get six photos, then sneak the camera back . One was a blurry mess, the rest were fine, this was my pick. I was back to work before my boss knew I had stopped. Thank you for looks and any comments you leave. All are appreciated and encouraging to me. Best to all. -GB-

Very well done. :-) Those sneaky shots at work can be a challenge. I do that constantly and only once have I been found out...and I was only told to try and keep it discrete so the other employees didn't complain I wasn't at my desk.

great capture...

A really good capture. Five good ones out of six is a really good gain. When i try to get a good macro-shot sometimes i've about 90% waste ;-)

I love the transparent wings. These creatures fascinate me to no end. Its a grand macro Georhe. I had to rescue one from a neighbor, it flew in her house and she was screaming her lungs out that it was after her..she had the broom so I arrived just in time to open a window and let him out! Needless to say I was rolling on the floor laughing at her...woosie!!! Dragonfly eggs are laid within their territory near the water. Once hatched, these nymphs will live nearly two years on the bottom of streams and ponds. As they reach adulthood an amazing thing occurs, they transform into dragonflies and ascend to the air. In the air, they travel with wings that sparkle with spectacular colors by reflecting and refracting light and other colors. No insect or bird can maneuver as well as a dragonfly. Flying up to 30 mph, they will twist, turn, move up and down, fly backwards, even change directions instantaneously and still will spot movement 40 feet away. The power of Dragonfly lies in its ability to see around things by looking from different angles. Using its ability to transform colors and lights by reflecting and refracting them, Dragonfly shows us that life, like light, can bend, shift, and adapt in various ways, making life's appearance never be what it appears to be. Dragonfly's magic shows us to see through life's illusions and find our true vision. It calls us to transform within our lives and reminds us to feel deeply so we will have the compassion necessary to help ourselves and others. Hope you enjoy the info!

Nice post. I am not sure I could get 5 usable shots out of 6 attempts even if I were shooting a brick. My averages are almost as good as phothomaniac says his are, lol. Thanks for sharing. Lee

Excellent! The advantage of having a camera like mine that is small enough to keep in your back pocket is that no one notices till it's too late!

Good idea to take the break and excellent work besides. Probably the best two minutes of the boss's clock for you all day. I brake for dragonflies, too. Hehe.
