Description

Another shot from my trip to the Greater Manchseter Fire Brigade Museum. This is the rear of a 1939 500 GPM(gallons per minute) Dennis Trailer Fire Pump, purchased by the Carlisle Electricity Deparment for ARP service in the 1939/45 war. It was donated to Greater Manchester Fire Service by NORWEB(North Western Electicity Board) South Lanc's area. It was restored by NORWEB Transport Dept. 1978. My last upload the Spark Plug was on the engine of this pump. Thanks for stopping by for a look and for any comments you care to make. A busy day yesterday and I am playing catch up, so sorry if I haven't got round to you yet. May the sun shine down on you, where ever you are. Have a great weekend.

This is great! I love the way the back of this truck fairly bristles with all manner of useful and beautiful things. It has a sort of sci-fi feel to it ... I don't know how to explain that, but there you have it. Fabulous pic!

I never thought these pumpers would be so complicated... you know...screw on a hose and go but look at all that! Fabulous shot with a bit of education behind it as well.

Gret Pov Jeff ! looks more like a Time Machine than a fire engine. Very interesting documentation to go alongside a great shot. Nice work!
