Description


This little snail was in the firewood pile at a work site we were cleaning up. These are the only type and size snail I have seen in my area in over 47 years being here. About an inch across the shell ( 25 mm? ) One of my co workers thought it was worth a photo. So, here it is. I thank you all for the comments on my previous posts. Hope all are enjoying the weekend. -GB-

This is a fantastic natural history shot that could easily earn it's place in a University textbook on molluscs. Superb macro photography.. your friend was right, it was worth a shot.

It's usually way too dry for snails here, too. But you did say you were seeing more rain, so he must have come out confident he won't dry out too much before he can go hide again in a damp place.

We use to have a lot of slugs here but more and more I'm seeing these guys and less slugs. These guys are prettier lol. Great capture of this snail.
