Thank goodness the weekend is here .. it's been one of dem weeks! :-) This was taken yesterday morning, just down the road from me, on my way to work. I have always wanted to photograph that raft sitting out there in the lake; especially in the morning, when the light is good and water like GLASS. But look at this .......... this time I see a Heron sitting there. I about went off the road, I got so excited, but yet, so very disappointed I only had my pocket camera with me. (Sony Cybershot). So, I figured I'd take what I can get. I had someone tailgating me, so I turned into someones driveway, to let the 'person' go by, and then i went back to this view; stopping on the wrong side of the road and snapped this ONE picture; before it spread its massive wings and flew off. I had to post this, with all the effort I put into it. :-) Ya Like? A little? Hope you all have a great Saturday ... thanks for stopping by and for your visits & comments. Shari

wow! this is perfect, reminds me of the subtle pinks Andreas had in his scenic captures at one stage. This is fantastic, I agree with Boris on that! Do stop every morning, ok? LOL I can't think of a more perfect color and composition scene.

Fabulous capture, you were at the right place at the right moment and have this great photo to remember it by. Fabulous bird the Heron, you just don't realize how big they are, until you get close up. One landed in my garden a few weeks ago and it was huge. Tony.

Beautiful sunrise colors. It's nice that this guy decided to pose for you. I usd to sit by a quiet pond to relax. One day a heron was fighting with a hawk there. The loud screaming noises it was making were unbelievable.Must've been defending it's chicks...

Don'y ya just love it when things come together like this? Pity the main camera was at home, but its still a fantastic shot Shari. The lighting is so perfect with that pink tinge to the sky, the water almost like glass, and the Heron, the cherry on the cake. Superb work I say. Bravo!!!!!

The trials and tribulations of the photographer on the go. Love the silhouetting of the tree against the matte-finish smooth lake. Makes for good dramatic depth. Surely a capture, unequalled in the annals of photographic lore. Oh, and a nice bird, too.
