Michael Hope lives and works in the northwest suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia, USA. He works mainly in digital media illustration and photo-manipulation.
Michaels visual work is available for purchase at his website www.fx-arcane.com; at Phoenix and Dragon bookstore in Atlanta, and at Fragranz Plantashun in Kennesaw, Georgia.BIOConventional wisdom tells us that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Michaels work explores inner spaces and outer vistas, and the interaction of the two. He looks for the surreal and the numinous in the mundane; often finding unseen worlds opened up by the simple act of turning the real world sideways or inside out.
His work is regularly displayed at fandom conventions east of the Mississippi including DragonCon in Atlanta, and Chattacon in Chattanooga, Tennesee. In 2002, Michael displayed work in such far-flung conventions as Farpoint, ConFlation, Exoticon, Fantasm, and Vulkon.
In addition to his visual art, he also designs role-playing games; writes music, plays primitive drums, and sings with Trybalaka, a Celtic /Folk a capella performance troupe.
Michael is an alumnus of the Atlanta College of Art from which he hold a B.F.A. in Illustration.
