Description

I know that up above 20,000 ft. there are ice crystals but these clouds look like sheet ice to me. I would guess these are above 30,000ft thanks for viewing and any comments

I am no cloud connoisseur but I bet those "holes" are due to up drafts. Excellent photo on this wonderful natural phenomenon.

I've never been good at guessing altitudes either in the up direction or down. Too many variables and not enough experience with knowns. Interesting patterns.

I saw a sky very much like this a good few years ago Richard, the problem was I didn't have my camera with me at the time. I must say this does look very simmilar to the ice box in my freezer. Lol. Excellent capture. Bravo!!!!!
