This is a Robberfly... but don’t ask me more : The family Asilidae contains about 7,100 described species worldwide !! ;~) Have you seen the wonderful american cousin uploaded by Leeco yesterday ?

I need to buy a tripod so I can hope to get a shot as nice. All my photos are hand held and none compare to this. Excellent top shot

Hand held? Very impressive, Michel. :^) The detail is wonderful.... Nice depth of field, as well. I can't exactly say 'he' is beautiful, because well, he's a fly, lol, but you certainly did do a beautiful job with the shot and capturing him. Congrats. All the best mon amie... -M :^)
