My name is Dottie. I am now among the millions of retirees across our great land. I am still a part of female population of the home workforce. My gainful employment ended with my retirement after 28 years with a national non-profit organization. My interest in photography began in earnest with the arrival of my three grandsons. As they were becoming teenagers my interest turned to travel and flowers. I think what success I have can be attributed to luck and my choice of a camera. I appreciate and learn from everyone's comments and I thank you.

I don't really recall covered bridges once I moved to the southern states...I don't think there is a practical reason for building them down there...bridges don't need snow overs there, but I do remember a few in the New England area from when I was very young. I wonder if they are still there? This has the nice shadows from the crossbeams and a very cozy mood to it.

This is a familiar sight...just drove through it last week. Excellent capture. The covered bridge in the town I grew up was sadly burned down in 1975. Not far from this one really, only minutes down the road.
