Description
These towers are to be demolished in the very near future due to being unsafe structures. They have become a local icon and there are very mixed feelings about their demise. I for one will miss them...

Very cool image! And are these the same ones that were just demolished a few days ago? I saw something on the news about 2 cooling towers that went down together. I can also understand you feelings of missing em. At least you have a great photo to remember them by.

Hi Nightgallery, these towers are due for demolition this weekend :( I think those you refer to were at a power plant in Gelsenkirchen, West Germany. The timing of the demolition is being kept very quiet due to the possibility of there being a protest. I hope to be there, purely as a silent witness and hopefully to catch some interesting images ;) Watch this space :) Angi
