Description

IT WAS MEANT FOR READING BARCODES You see, i was searching for an office job, to increase chances i applied to about 20 temporary employment agencies. One guy was so impressed by my application he said, ill find something for you.... ..and he did. He said i found somthing, you would have to book incoming goods for this huge publisher and distributor. I said uhhhh, sounds good......he thougt it was n easy office job, i did as well. When i woke up, i found myself in this huge hall, with gates for about 40 incoming trucks delivering all kind of goods, mostly Books though, with a mobile computerterminal helping handle large scale logistics with a fiew others lol. Its a blood sweat and tears job, taring the cargo apart, checking the delivery and then see that about a million of $ worth of goods a day go the right way lol. I run about 20 miles a day and sort out tons of books. I swear when i get home i have a stomache ache thinking about the money that went through my fingers, my feet hurt so, i can hardly stand and i have got sore muscles having sorted out books. Me beeing the office type, thought i wouldnt make it...not for a day even.....not with my 46 years, however, i have got more of the Major in me than i thought...i never give up...and succeeded.......... Its only for half a year anyway...so......what the heck...im learning a lot of how large scale logistics is handled, and learning is allways a good thing, i know, have never stopped it all my life, not to forget, i earn money lol. Bad thing is i have little time and strength left doing art...grrrrrrrrrrr!!!! Enjoy Dj

Sounds like you won't get bored, and time will go by fast since you'll be so busy. If you are working in a warehouse with cement floors, you'll have to get some good shoes. My honey looks for good hiking boots. You know the ones that look like tennis shoes but they're real extra cushiony? Cement is a booger on feet. Love the pic! (:

Keep it up. I been working on some logistics systems but I do not have an appreciation of what your going through for this only handles low volume big items.

When you were out of work for such a long time, it´s really better to keep the job, especially when it´s just for half a year. I hope you can live from it. We´ve no minimum wages heres in Germany, so many people need welfare payment additional to a job. But with such a system the state is supporting low wages and sponsoring profits made out of them with taxpayers money.

I think it's great that you have that job! First of all it's tough to even find work these days. Just remember, don't complain about having the work....cause there is ALWAYS someone willing to take that job if you don't want it. We are all replacable.... Just suck it up. It'll be good to have a workout. I worked as a cable lineman for a few years and it was grueling but I came home feeling great...tired but great. Now I have been sitting at a desk at an office working in Cinema 4D thinking it was going to be awesome....I miss my old job more than anything.. -chachi

I'm thinking you go home pooped because you're supposed to. A little bit of conditioning will have you back doing things you like. Maybe the best thing will be having something current to put on the resume. Good to hear you are on the up and up!!!
