Description

Again a photo from the local Wetlands here in So Cal. I spotted this guy across the water on a high railing by a train bridge that runs over the wetland (which is in a riverbed). So I chanced it that he would stay there long enough for me to trek about a 1/4 mile to the other side of the water and get some close shots. Obviously he did! And I got some (for me) fantastic shots. Had he been on a branch or other "natural" pedestal, I would have been a bit more pleased. But I am stoked for the fact of getting so close after watching these hawks around here for so long. Thanks for all the comments on my previous uploads this week. Happy Friday all! -Bruce **FULL SIZE for larger**

a great full-face shot ! looks like he was thinking, "he is not really going to trek a 1/4 mile to get some close shots of me, is he ? oh damn, he is. and this is my favourite perch too...."

Your are justified in feeling stoked. This is a first-rate shot in the wild. I noticed right off that the eyes are set toward the front of the face and the markings are well defined... Excellent details are presented!
