A perfect portrait of this creature, Mick, I think its a hoverfly, Myathropa florae. (You can compare the markings with my pic of the same one on page 13 of my gallery if you want) This 'summer' is a farce, I feel so sorry for visitors to the seaside!

Very beautiful shot Mick, the little bee couldn't be more clear. Your right for some reason prolonged periods of rain tend to get everyone down but hopefully that will change for you soon.

I'm inclined to agree with Andrea Mick, the bee's are usually full of pollen and have pollen sacks on the rear legs, I could be wrong though. Which ever it is it's a cracking capture of it, as for the weather Pauline just this minute walked in and said, 'this weather is really depressing'. It was raining when I started this comment, it has now turned to sunny, but still lots of clouds about. Excellent work. Bravo!!!!!

Well, I don't know either but it closely resembles the bumble bee we have here, very little fur and very shiny. Whatever it is, you captured it superbly Mick!
