A Hero Never Dies Silently she knelt beside The stone that marked his place And whispered treasured memories That transcended time and space. A voice, a touch, a gentle laugh Filtered through the trees As a tear traced down her cheek And she sank fully to her knees. A hero can be many things A lover, mate or a friend But hero's know, as hero's go All good things must end. Her thoughts drift back to happy times As the night progressed And trembling fingers touched on etched names and dates That Earth now sole possessed. A whisper in the wind past her And a soft touch rose to her skin "I am the hero in your heart, your soulmate and your friend And no time may eat away the love you hold me in." A hero never stumbles A hero never falls A hero never falters To answer his duty's calls. So in your heart hold memories Share in a memories cry And remember so long as you recall A hero never dies.
