Description

Hello, dear RRians! Sunday, time for a clsssical Berlin shot as you can see thousand times in tourist journals... The Kaiser - Wilhelm - Memorial Church, destroyed in WW II and replaced by a modern church in the early 50ies. An impressive anti - war memorial. Nothing special, only a pic, taken with my Nikon Coolpix 8700 at 10.10.2007. I hope you like this pic. Thanks for your interest and your comments. Bye and have a nice weekend!

I like this Wolfgang the POV is exceptional, this metal sculptue looks like striding legs. I'm interested to learn more about the Cathedral shaped ruin ahead, is it a remnant left as a memorial from the war? Fantastic shot, thanks for sharing!

Excellent pov for this shot Wolfgang, I looked up this church on Wikipedia, the link below shows the same church from a different pov. My research tells me that Berliners call this, 'The Hole in the Tooth'. I also picked up some more interesting information about it on another site. Superb capture, the sculpture used as the frame is quite interesting also, I have not checked that one out yet though. Bravo!!!!! A wonderful shot...with a clear sky! I know this area well and have stood in exactly the same location. Love the framing with the sculpture...and you have also good timing as normally this area is full of people! Thanks for posting this.
