Description

The start of a little series with some pictures of our last holiday which ended a few weeks back...sigh... After 2006, when we visited the United States for the first time (see the 'My American Dream'-series in my gallery) we again targeted for the U.S.A. this year. So, sometimes dreams do continue.... We started in New York, since my youngest daughter desperatly wanted to visit this city. We (my wife and I) weren't to sure about it, but we finally decided to give it a go. And we have to admit now that this visit was one of the highlights of our trip. For 3 days we toured and discovered (only parts of) Manhattan, and what an experience it was. THIS CITY ROCKS!!! (okay, okay, it's just an honest opinion of a European citizen...) Somehow we had the feeling like we were part of some famous movie, since you do recognize so many buildings and scenes (which one has seen dozens of times on TV). And the traffic is absolutely overwhelming. A ride in a yellow cab is a hell of an experience, especially when the driver is totally nuts (in our opinion that is!). Somehow we survived the bumpy ride and as a bonus we learned some really bad words, after our cab was involved in a 'small' collision with a 30-ton truck... Anyway, above you'll see one of the famous buildings in Manhattan. Enjoy and have a good (working) week. Paul
