Description

On April 10, 2008 this same feral cat gave birth to five kittens, I posted Baby Love on Fri, April 11, and I wrote,"she and kittens are destined to Feral Friends to find them homes. If not for that she would be taking them outside soon and their fate would be sealed, death by poisoning or other problems here, such as the many pit bulls that are taught to kill them:-( I tell you this because I abhor the people who just throw these animals out because they were too irresponsible to have them fixed and feel that cats are 'disposable'. Or as in the case of this tenant, does not have them fixed and then does not take proper care of even the mama. I have watched as kitten after kitten has died (more than a dozen) because he thinks feeding them once in awhile is all they need. I buried three of the kittens myself after they were poisoned and believe me, that tore my heart out! I talked and talked to this man about this with no results so I complained to his worker who gave me the Feral Friends number to call." Those 5 kittens were saved but, well, here we are again because he was allowed to keep the cat without having her fixed...seems the worker was too busy to care (they treat humans the same way here)...and so the tenant again did nothing and now we again have 4 kittens that are 'disposable'. I am so angry that this time I stepped in and have secreted the animals away where the tenant does not know they exist and I will care for them until the agency comes to get them and their mama. This in my mind is extreme cruelty to animals and this man deserves to go to jail for this, but he won't and the animals will suffer more. Please, again, I plead to you, be responsible if you have an animal. Spay and neuter and don't 'throw' them away if you can't keep them. Everyone is always looking for unconditional love...well here you have it, respect it and love it back...unconditionally! Thanks for looking and previous comments! I apologize for my anger but I do not apologize for wanting better for the creatures who inhabit this planet with us. We, collective humans, made this mess...we, collective humans, need to clean it up!

Who cares about the flowers? The cat and kits are comfortable and that's what's important! Lovely shot!

I love animals, even if I cannot keep them at home ... I'm allergic! I always sorry when I hear that men kill or abandon them! What cruelty! They are not worthy to call themselves men! It's a photo very tender! :)

Lovely shot of the mum and her babies, so sad about the way people behave, I am always amazed. My cats are my babies and I would do anything to keep them well and content. I even bought a house as opposed to a flat as where I live sometimes you are not able to keep cats even if you own it! Worth it? Of course it was and also they have a little patio to go out and sunbathe. If I had bought the flat they would have been sitting looking out the window only.

Good for you, Lynn! I entirely agree. All my animals are neutered, not only for the reasons you give, but to keep them content. Not too many urges to fight or go seeking sex, a pity I can't insist on it for my male lodgers.

Beautiful capture - it's good to know we have people like you in the world to care enough to try to do something. I agree 100% - spay and neuter your pets!!!

People like him should be treated the same way as he treats the animals, no respect. Throw him out in the cold with nothing and let him fend for himself. Hope the kittens and mom keep doing well.
