Description

A partial view of the Western facade of St. Vitus' Cathedral with Rose Window. St. Vitus' Cathedral is the largest cathedral in Prague. It was commissioned by Charles IV. Work began in 1344 on the site of an earlier 10th century rotunda. The final phase of construction ended during the period 1873-1929. This picture was taken in September 1991 and later scanned. I don't know about St. Vitus' facade but I know my mom used to tell me to be still or she'd tell everyone I had St. Vitus' Dance. LOL Beautiful shot here with a stunning pov.

What an interesting facade it is Sig, I have to agree with cameraobscura2's comment when he says we cannot achieve the same sort of craftmanship in today's world. When this was built they had real pride in their jobs, as well as being ruled with a big stick. I think the missing big stick has a lot to answer for. Superb detail. Bravo!!!!!
