Silvia 11: birth of a vocation by Elcet

I have not posted anything since several weeks, because of the very bad health of my mother, so I have been without internet during all that time… Sorry for my many friends and favorites who I have not commented at all… and I guess that tomorrow will NOT be a pleasant day because of the phone call that I received a few minutes ago! However, my comic project has made some progress, as you can see on the dedicated site:
"Silvia (the adventures of Silvia Robin)"
Now, in the public area, there are 58 illustrations available in three galleries instead of 52 two days ago, and several comic pages (7, 13, 48) in the area of restricted access have been updated with much improved panel drawings. I plan to upload a full BW comic page at Renderosity in one or two weeks. A comic album cannot show everything, because in the album 1, Silvia is shown without transition from the age of 2 to 7 years old. Here, she is some 3 years old. This drawing, among others of Silvia, was published in 2002 in "Vanille et Chocolat" (Vanilla and Chocolate), a French magazine devoted to adoption. But it appeared in BW, so I colored it in Adobe Illustrator later to give it a more pleasant appearance. It is so entitled because Silvia will become a biology teacher later. Keep in touch, many other picts of this comic project will come later.

I am so sorry to read about your mother. It sounds, from the tone of this, that she's not doing too well. I know how you must feel as my father passed away earlier this year after a long decline in his health. You have my sympathies. On a more pleasant note, this is quite a cute comic piece. I recall asking my mother, when I was quite young, whether cars had been invented when she was born. Of course I knew better. :-) I hope everything works out for your family Edouard. Best of luck.

Hi Elcet. I know that God will strenghten you to handle what comes your way. I know too how you feel, I lost my mother this past December. Please email me if you like. I am happy that you have made some progress more with your comic and Sylvia. YOu were blessed to have this most precious, extra time alone with your mother. Take care and remember that God is able to keep and sustain you through everything under the sun hugs Pamyla

I'm so sorry to hear about your mother. I lost my parents many years ago, so, I also know how traumatic it is to deal with any type of serious illness and how important it is to have the support of family and friends. I do hope that your mother will recover soon and that you will find the strength you need during these difficult times. This is a fun image created with obvious talent and skills. I love the question, too. I suppose the question for children in the next generations will be: were you born before the invention of the Internet? And I'll have to answer yes! :- )

Sorry for your mother. Cool picture and text. Well done.

Amicalement Lior
