Description

A little early for Halloween things, you say? BAH! Never too soon for a good ghost story, and what better one to start with than that made famous by a quiet little borough called Sleepy Hollow....? ~~~~ ~The Hessian Rides!~ He rides the night of Hallow's Eve From hellbound shadows take your warning Performing his summoner's vicious demands While the moon is high before the morning. A clatter of hooves 'Ore cobbled stone Make haste at night Back to your home! A warrior bound Of vicious intent Spilt blood of all Rival, friend and innocent. A specter of terror He stands apart A headless demon Of hellish heart By laws to which no mortals' bound He seeks to find that what was lost And exacts his payment On who's path he's crossed. The Hessian rides on moonlight nights And he has no thought for fear or pain Best to be indoors and safe Or lend your name to legend...like Ichabod Crane (2008) J.S. Shudders You KNOW how I feel about the Horseman! (and for the rest of you, I've been terrified of the Headless Horseman since the Disney version!) A wickedly delightful take on the Hessian, and a fantastic poem to compliment your stunning work. Now if you'll excuse me, must go hide under the blankets now!
