Description
The James A. Garfield Memorial is the most prominent point of interest at Lake View Cemetery. The ornate interior features a large marble statue, stained glass, bas relief, and various historical relics from Garfield's life and presidency. The monument also serves as a scenic observation deck and picnic area. President and Mrs. Garfield are entombed in the lower level crypt, their coffins placed side by side and visible to cemetery visitors.
Gargoyles are placed around the upper portion of this monument.

I can still remember my old address in Lake View... funny but it rhymed so it was easier to remember while I was in Forest View Elementary School. I'd hoped to go back and get a picture of the old house, maybe ask to see the back yard and the nice balcony over the sunroom between the kitchen and garage... but time ran out. :-) I haven't seen the old school in nearly a half century! I don't remember going to the cemetery... guess I was too busy walking the beach at the end of my street. :-) Fabulous shot. The clouds are a perfect background.

Wow that is a seriously moody image! The clouds are so dramatic that it makes the gargoyle much more creepy looking. And thank you for the history lesson too!

Three great persons here: The architect who created these fine structures and the gargoyles, Mother Nature who sent this dramatic clouds in the background, and you as a very fine photograper with good eyes and a clear camera work at just the right moment! Wonderful!
