Description

Just got back from a short vacation to a cabin 90 miles south and east of Ketchikan,AK that the family owns-the only way to get there is by boat-on a good day about an hour and a half-what an amazing place- Georges Inlet on the map-everything up there is such an eyeful and luckily we had amazing weather.Seafood in such abundance-crab,shrimp steamer clams, oysters, mussels, sea cucumbers, rock fish, octopus(didn't eat him-he was young).I hope you enjoy these pictures. this is the forest behind the cabin-it is one forest on top of another on top another ad infinitum(not really but it seems that way)

try telling that to the people of Ketchikan-they exist in rain- that is the norm-Rain,Rain,and more Rain-this may not meet your technical specifications of a rain forest-but it is not unusual to have a month of rain-and one day of sun and another month of rain- I'm from Washington State and have hiked in the Olympic Rain Forest extensively-there are differences and there are similarities, more of the latter than the former.

Ketchikan is such a beautiful place when the sun is out. This tree really shows off the beauty of the surrounding area. Wonderful shot!

This totally looks like a man... the shape of the tree... to me haha great image. Love these nature shots, the most beautiful colours are always out in the nature. Beautiful work.

Beautiful site! I wish I was there with lots of butter for the crab! None but you and nature! I can feel the breeze and smell the texture. Live life!
